Audi A5 2016: Engine and Specs review


The al new Audi A5 2016 is now under the spotlight after a long wait and started delivering in November last year. The car presents itself as a magnanimous luxury vehicle. Everyone is eying on it and from the past standards set by the manufacturer, a lot is expected from this upcoming beauty. A5 has already hit the market with incredible sale last year.

All New Revved Up Engine


Audi has planned on launching A5 2016 with five variations in engine. From which three are petrol and two are supposed to be diesel. In case of petrol, Audi has offered a four-cylinder turbo charged 2.0-liter TFSI engine with 187 horsepower. Some resources confirm that the current lineup is accompanied by a more powerful 248 horsepower engine. As in the case of diesel, a 2.0-liter with 187bhp is offered with two 3.0 liter V6 choices in 216bhp and 268 brake horsepower. The four cylinder engines and 216bhp six-cylinder diesel will be a standard with a six-speed manual or optional seven-speed S-tronic dual clutch gearbox. It will support both front and four-wheel drive versions.

Audi claims an improvement of 0.7 sec over the previous model because it takes 4.7 seconds to go from 0-67mph. The top speed however is restricted to 155mph, but it is okay. The fuel consumption has also been reformed from a previous 36.7mpg to 38.7mpg.

Brand new Interior and Exterior Design


Audi A5 is a two-door coupe which is majorly based on the predecessor A4 with a few evolutionary changes. As it must be quoted that it is a finer version of the car it replaces. The car looks all revamped with more fine details in the exterior design in sleek stylish sporty look. The enhancement of front grille of the bumper is noteworthy. They are wider and positioned a bit lower and creased by larger and more aggressive air vents. The head and taillights look brand new with a few amendments. They are followed by a bonnet with creases prominent than before. The taillights have gone a bit sleeker taking inspiration from A4. The advancements in design and revolutionary changes in overall construction have rendered the car to get light on its weight. Audi A5 has shed quite some weight and now is roughly 132lb (60 kg) lighter than its predecessor.

Audi A5 Interior

The interior greatly resembles to that of A4. Its vast cabin and quality of materials used in interior design are almost the same in brilliance. An 8.3 inches wide touch display is located on the center console. The Audi infotainment system is up with all the latest apps, satellite navigation, smartphone connectivity and Bluetooth on the go. There are plenty of storage options throughout the cabin with large door bins and mug holders.


Release Details


The new Audi A5 coupe was out in November later last year. The release will be followed by revealing of a four door sport back version during 2017. In the spring this year convertible versions are also expected to get an exciting release. All the Audi lovers keep your fingers crossed!
